Waiheke Island is located around a 45 minute ferry trip from the heart of Auckland. Fast becoming one of the hot wine regions in this country, we can't wait to get over there and try as many wines as possible each summer.
While Gewurztraminer is not a common varietal enjoyed in New Zealand, we declared this wine to be the best we tasted on the island this year. This gorgeous perfectly balanced and fruity - though not overly sweet wine - perfectly accompanies Asian cuisine, spicy foods and can even double as a fine dessert wine!
